Vibes Trio was founded in the early 2017 by three young musicians who came together in various jazz places in Istanbul and who are passionate about long term, collective production. The three musicians; Mehmet Ali Şimaylı on drums, Yiğit Can Öztop on bass guitar and Cenk Esen on piano, continue their education in different countries and they get together in Istanbul for a limited time during the year and they present their new compositions and arrangements to the audience. Vibes Trio, performed in various events and places, entered the 2017 Young Jazz Competition and was qualified to perform at Istanbul Jazz Festival. The trio plays jazz standards following the traditions but with their own interpretation along with their own compositions.
