AYÇA GÜNDÜZ QUARTET
Coming from Ankara and having an education background of Materials Engineering, Ayça Gündüz began her professional music career by taking jazz harmony&performance lessons from Fulbright Specialist pianist and saxophonist George ‘Skip Gailes’; She had the chance to perform in 2011 Ankara International Jazz Festival, 2011 Ankara Film Festival, Hacettepe Jazz Festival with important musicians from both Turkey and America (i.e. Mike Richmond, Bob Hallahan, Howard Curtis, İmer Demirer, Neşet Ruacan, Şenova Ülker…). In 2012 she sang the jazz variation of ‘Ben Seni’ folk song arranged and conducted by Doug Richards, played by Virginia Commonwealth Orchestra and Canadian, Ensemble Appasionata in Richmond, VA. In 2012 she had the chance to perform at the opening concert of İzmir International Jazz Festival with Dutch band Arifa. Representing directly the Greek Consulate of İzmir, she had a concert featuring George Kontrafouris in 2016 İzmir Jazz Festival. She is living in İzmir for the moment and soon will be releasing her debut single ‘Gecenin Üçü’.
