Aydın Kahya
Aydın Kahya, born in 1974 in Ankara, got into Hacettepe University State Conservatory Piano Department. After two years, he switched to Trombone Department, moved up two times and graduated with excellence. He worked on jazz composition with Prof. İlhan Baran and jazz and Motown vocal techniques with American vocalist Keisha Brown. He performed with valuable musicians such as Aydın Esen, Atilla Şereftuğ, Aşkın Arsunan, Garo Mafyan, Süheyl Denizci, Tuna Ötenel, Kerem Görsev, Önder Focan, Slide Hampton, Brian Lynch, Bruce Barth, Doug Weiss, Huge Sicotte, Tony Jones. In 1999, his first Turkish jazz album “Vocalists” with Önder Focan under the “Blue Note” label, in 2006 his R&B album “Istanbul Party” with Tony Jones, in 2008 his symphonic jazz album “Aventia Crooners” with Atilla Şereftuğ and Czech Philharmonic Orchestra were recorded. He recorded, did radio emissions and performed in festivals, state concerts with national and international symphonies and Big Band orchestras. He is still a teaching assistant at Hacettepe University Stat Conservatory, Jazz Vocal Department.
